It all started with a coupla smart-alecky New Yorkers who migrated to the
beautiful Tampa Bay area sayin', "I wonder if ya could..."
For all the years they'd been down here, whenever they'd run into another New Yorker
(especially the Italian ones!)... right after they finished talking about the Yankees & the Mets ...
it always ended up on the food.
Who missed the PIZZA... Who missed the Hot Dogs... Who missed the Knishes...
Let's not forget about the Bagels, the Bread, and even the Hot Pretzels.
Yeah - we all missed a lotta things.
Fortunately, across the Bay area there are a few scattered Deli's and Markets where
you can get a decent sandwich & the Pizza's not the end of the World either.
There are even a few Hot Dog Carts on the side of the road here and there.
But where couldja get a good CANNOLI!
And then they started thinking "I wonder if ya could..."
"How could you get real Italian Bakery Goods ... like home ... down here?"
Not the kind of desserts you'd get from a large distributor who buys in huge quantities
from big factories to secure tremendous discounts to maximize profits (that at best, are so-so) ...
